The work consists of a toy-model constructed from a 5D Kaluza-Klein line element. The idea is to provide a functional form for the 5D term on the line element, such that it can mimic the effects of a cosmological constant in the standard cosmology.
The work consists of obtaining 5D f(R,T) solutions. To do so, I applied the induced matter model to the field equations. Solutions of an accelerated expansion are analyzed. Furthermore, the cilindrical condition is applied to the field equations, yielding elegant results.
From a innovative form of solving the equations of motion derived from a two scalar field lagrangian density, we obtain solutions for the Hubble parameter, scale factor, acceleration parameter and equation of state parameter. With a suitable choice of values for the arbitrary constants of such solutions, the model predicts different stages of the universe evolution, like radiation, matter and dark energy - dominated eras.
